Shingles Vaccine
The shingles (Shingrix) vaccine is now available privately at our Killaloe pharmacy. Shingles is an infection that causes a painful rash. It is caused by the chickenpox (varicella zoster) virus and unfortunately, 1 in 3 people will get shingles in their lifetime.
The (Shingrix) vaccine significantly reduces shingles risk, severity and long-term pain, especially for those over 50 or with weakened immune systems.
Recommended for:
Adults over 50+, and those 18-49 with weakened immunity.
The shingles vaccine is administered in two doses, usually given two months apart.
